Cumberland County Lakes Region Homeless Service Study

Opportunity

HSRI is partnering with Levine Planning Strategies and North Star Planning to examine the need for homeless services in the Lakes Region communities of Baldwin, Casco, Naples, Raymond, Sebago plus Standish, Windham, Bridgton, and Gray in Maine.

Approach

HSRI is conducting key informant interviews, focus groups, and community listening sessions to explore: 1) who is experiencing homelessness in the Lakes Region; 2) factors contributing to homelessness; 3) types of housing and services available and needed; and 4) possible solutions for preventing and ending homelessness and closing gaps in resources, services and housing.

Impact

Findings and recommendations will be included in a report submitted to the Cumberland County. Our partners have prepared town-by-town housing profiles and are conducting a siting and land use analysis for potential locations for service center or centers.
