Henan is a research associate, and he has a strong belief in data-driven decisions and evidence-based practice. Henan is an experienced user of large datasets, and is highly skilled in cleaning, merging, and analyzing national level health survey data. In addition to quantitative data, Henan also has prior experience in collecting and analyzing qualitative data, as well as grant writing.
Prior to joining HSRI, Henan was a postdoctoral research fellow at Brandeis University, where his work primarily focused on the disparities in access to health care faced by people with disabilities. Prior to that, Henan worked in Chicago, Illinois, as a graduate research assistant on projects related to the national health statistics of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Henan has volunteered at the Cat Connection, a Waltham, Massachusetts-based no-kill organization that helps stray cats find permanent homes.
On his days off, Henan enjoys going to parks with his wife and toddler daughter, and playing music.
