Ioana Crisan

Director of Health Care Reporting - Population Health

Ioana is a data scientist and the director of health care reporting for HSRI’s Population Health team. Her work is driven by a passion for analyzing and visualizing data for meaningful and equitable change. Ioana is particularly skilled at working with health care insurance claims and code sets, national surveys, and social services administrative data to report on policy relevant measures and metrics. She is also highly skilled in managing and analyzing data through database programming in Vertica SQL, statistical programming in Stata and SPSS, and building business intelligence dashboards in Tableau.

Her prior work experience includes quantitative research support positions, such as research associate at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management on a project concerned with racial/ethnic and socioeconomic inequity in the well-being, health, and development of children and their families. Prior to that, Ioana was an analyst at HSRI on a five-year project that provided comprehensive data and analytic resources for national and state substance use prevention programs.

Ioana is a native speaker of Romanian and proficient in French. When not at work, Ioana enjoys long walks, discovering new places close and far, minimal techno, and buffalo brussels sprouts.
