Michelle Leigh

Project Manager - National Core Indicators

Michelle is the project manager for HSRI’s National Core Indicator team. Her work is driven by a passion for the HSRI mission “to help public agencies understand and demonstrate the real-world impact of the services they provide, helping them transform their policies and practices to improve their outcomes.” As a certified project management professional and utilizing Six Sigma methodologies, Michelle is particularly skilled at working with complex projects and streamlining processes. Her work focuses on supporting the National Core Indicators Individuals with Developmental Disabilities team (NCI-IDD) as well as the National Core Indicators Aging Disabilities team (NCI-AD), and working to ensure successful project completion. Michelle is also skilled at cross-functional team management and enjoys working to remove barriers to implementation.

Prior to joining HSRI, Michelle was a community organizer and fundraiser for Apraxia Kids, whose work champions children diagnosed with apraxia of speech and related disorders. Michelle began her project management career in commercial construction with a focus on the technical side of HVAC. She has volunteered as an advocate for children with developmental disabilities as well as assisted families with guidance and resources, all while working to raise awareness for this historically unrepresented group. Michelle is excited to combine her special interests in operational management, a perfect blend of her community organization talents, and project management skills in her position with HSRI.

When not at work, Michelle enjoys “living” life, as she can usually be found outside on an adventure. “We didn’t realize we were making memories; we just knew we were having fun.” – Winnie the Pooh
