The Human Services Research Institute recently completed an evaluation of the Robert Wood Johnson Self Determination initiative. The study, which covered a range of implementation issues, provides an overview of the state demonstration projects and includes suggestions and recommendations for the future. Issues addresses include the role of self-advocates, the implications for state financing and contracting practices, the impact on case management, the role of fiscal intermediaries, and entailments of self-determination for future Home and Community Based Waiver policies.
