HSRI completed an evaluation of the Robert Wood Johnson Self Determination initiative. The study, which covered a range of implementation issues, provides an overview of the state demonstration projects and includes suggestions and recommendations for the future. Issues addressed include the role of self-advocates, the implications for state financing and contracting practices, the impact on case management, the role of fiscal intermediaries, and implications of self-determination principles and operations for Home and Community-Based Waiver policies.
